Episode Transcript

[00:00:00] Speaker A: It's so great to be by the ocean right now because I'm constantly reminded of the immensity and the intensity of life and what happens when you fight the waves. Like when you go up there and you're like, I'm gonna stand, you know, here and I'm not gonna, you know, versus when you jump up when one comes or you sort of like gently drop down into the ocean when it comes and what happens to you, you are just gently sort of like rocked in this way versus being slammed down to the ocean floor. [00:00:32] Speaker B: Welcome to Came Here to Love, a podcast hosted by me, Liz Logan where we explore heart centered conversations with visionary leaders from around the world. [00:01:28] Speaker C: Hey guys, it's so exciting to be here with you today. [00:01:31] Speaker D: I am sitting down with one of my favorite like beings and she is just a magnificent, electrifying energy and I can't wait for you to meet her and hear her wisdom for today. But before we get to the episode, I wanted to share a few things that I am absolutely loving in my life right now and wanted to make sure that you knew about them. [00:01:49] Speaker A: So. [00:01:50] Speaker D: So I was introduced by one of my best friends to a product line called Oliveira. It's out of Spain and they're using the really magnificent foundation of the Olive Tree, so really rich in omega 3 oils for all of their products. The company ranges from skincare to body to internals and I'm going to actually be talking about the internals today because these have really amplified my health and I can feel such a difference in my skin and just overall vitality. So the first one is iO1 and this is actually immune booster if you will. And so you take it morning and you can also take it in the evening. It's great for the whole family and it's fantastic as we go into flu season and all of those germs that are lovely things that are out there trying to get into our system. So this is something you take every day. I'll put the link on all three of these products below, but I highly recommend you checking that one out. Then the next One is called i70. This is an internal product that you actually drink. And this is fantastic for wrinkles. Again, for all of the skin tone. This again works with the olive oil. So that rich omega 3 oil that you're getting from the olive. And I have noticed a great, great just reduction in wrinkles. My skin feels more moisturizing in the summer. I'm in Colorado and then I get to be in Mexico and my skin changes so much from the dry climate to the humid. And this product has helped so much because I'm now getting moisture from the inside out as opposed to just slapping on more moisture from the from the outside. So highly recommend that. And then the last one I want to talk about is the i66. These two, the i70 and the i66 kind of work in conjunction with each other. The i66 is the formula for their collagen product. So it's really high in collagen. Again, it has that base from the olive tree and that rich oil. So great for skin care, great for hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, nails, all of the things that we need that collagen for. So highly recommend these products. I'm going to send the link down below so that you can shop, but try them. I haven't found anything that I like better as an internal product, so definitely check those out. And now let's get back to today's episode. I am so excited I get to sit down with this magnificent force. She is such an electrifying energy. We met a couple years ago with Richard Bronson in Necker island in the Caribbean. Had such a fun time and her energy is just contagious. She's very light energy. She has such a deep knowledge base. She's rich in business wisdom, but she also has such a strong sense of self. And I think that's where I really connected with her is I just felt such a grounding, knowing energy around who she is and just how she puts herself out into the world is such a beautiful, beautiful way. So I would love to welcome Courtney McDermott to our podcast. She's a bestselling author, she's a TEDx speaker, she's a mind body expert, and she has a Master's of Science from London School of Economics. She has been in the field of self development and business strategy and has been featured on so many different publications like Women's Health Success, the Huffington Post, Fox News, and many other mainstream businesses and lifestyle magazines and medias that we know. Her career highlights have included her time as an executive at Vanity Fair Corporation. She was the vice president of Sustainability Partners, and then she started running her own businesses, and those included clients and audiences from Universal Music Group, Google, Nike, Virgin Unite. She really has made a very big impact in her time on Earth. Courtney speaks four languages, and she lives between Italy and now California. She has a magnificent life, and I'm so grateful that we get the chance to sit down and catch up because her wisdom and, like I said, just this internal knowing is such a wellspring of knowledge, and I want you all to get that benefit. So let's welcome Courtney McDermott. [00:06:07] Speaker C: Hello, Court. How are you? [00:06:10] Speaker A: I am great. I'm super happy to be here. [00:06:13] Speaker C: It's so nice to connect. I was just saying in your intro that we met in Necker Island a couple years ago, and it was like a fast friendship and love that I just feel like is going to be with me forever as far as I'm concerned. So it's really nice to see you here. [00:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah. I was reflecting on that this morning. You hopped in the boat that we took the last boat to Necker, and I just remember kind of, oh, what is this blast of light just coming onto the. Onto the water with you? It was really. Yeah. Really remarkable. So happy we're together. [00:06:46] Speaker C: I know. And, you know, came here to love is all about spreading the love and having people really step into their light as a mission and purpose. And so I feel like there's so much we have to talk about with your journey and what you've done in your life has so profound and just how you move through life, who you are, I love so much the reflection that you shine bright. So we'll get to all of that. But first, as we do with every episode, I just wanted to know, is there anything that you're actually loving right now that comes to mind? [00:07:17] Speaker A: Yes. I'm loving so much this new place I'm living in. I am in Solana Beach. I'm close to Encinitas, and there are these gardens there that actually Yogananda, there's this fellowship and they founded all of this just incredible activity on those lands. And you're really just like right over the ocean. So it feels so expansive to be there in these gardens. And I've been going as frequently as I can. It's really. It's really filling me. [00:07:45] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure it is love. Yeah. Well, you Came from Italy. I was saying, like, you have, you know, the best of both worlds. I don't know why you would ever leave Italy, but. But I get it. I also get it. Solana beach is a nice place to land. So I'm glad you're enjoying the gardens. And I want to dive right into, you know, your two books. First of all, you know, I heard you speak, and it's like one part business accolade mixed with one part spiritual mixed with one part love. And it just, it's like the whole thing, you know, And I've heard you speak on human sustainability as much as you have on, you know, sustainability at large. And I just think some of the messaging that you really put out into the world, it's so simple, which is always the most profound lessons that we can get. And your two books, Change Starts within. And also give yourself permission. Both of these books are available on Amazon. You guys, you have to get these books because they're incredible. But. But I would love to know the inspiration behind those. Like, where did, where did that come from? [00:08:47] Speaker A: Right. So Change Starts within you, which was released back in 2017. That book really stemmed from having arrived at this place that everyone says is the place to be, to feel amazing about your life and feeling what I said at. I think I coined this phrase, or at least I had never heard it before, of feeling miserably successful. You know, I had all the things. I had the titles, I had the accolades, I had the family, I had the Jimmy Choo heels. I was a marathon runner. I was, I was jet setting all over the world. I was in private jets, you know, every other week or, you know, just all the things that they say are supposed to make you happy. And every one of them was this goalpost that as soon as I hit, I was like, wait, this isn't it either. And so with that book, I wanted to shorten the learning curve for a lot of people who are, quote, unquote, high performers, which is a word or a phrase that I struggle with a little bit, actually wanted to turn performance into play. What would life look like if you didn't follow the rules? [00:09:51] Speaker C: I love that. [00:09:52] Speaker A: Yeah. If you actually started saying, wait, I'm going to paint this canvas white and I'm going to start over no matter where I am. What could that look like? And so that first book and the first TEDX talk, they were stemming from that innate knowing that that wasn't it. And I think no matter what kind of trappings you succumb to, we've all felt that. You know, we've all felt that. Where it's like, oh, man, I'm so. I have all the things. Why am I not just vibing? Right. And you continually have. You continually come back to that fact. And this is what inspired the title of the book, Change Starts within you, which, by the way, I couldn't believe had not been taken yet. [00:10:31] Speaker C: I can't believe that either. [00:10:33] Speaker A: Right. You continually come back to this, knowing that nothing external is actually the ticket, and the ticket is in you, and it has always been in you. So it's like Dorothy with the. With the red slip you want with ruby slippers is like, okay, wow, I actually had this all along. And then you start cultivating that and working with that intelligence, and everything starts to change. [00:10:58] Speaker C: Yeah. And it becomes prettier and more beautiful than you could ever imagine. [00:11:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:02] Speaker C: It's funny, I had a moment like that with the same exact description that you. That you described. And it was so interesting how I was just always trying to grab more because I was like, well, this isn't satisfying, so there must be something else. And it was. It was the focus on all the external that we're taught that we really need to focus on. And that's where the. The acknowledgement and the measurement and every. All of the accolades come from. And it's not until I really, really got quiet in the stillness of my breath that those answers, for me started coming in it. And it's. It's outrageously beautiful. So I. Change Starts within is a book that every single person should read. Get it now, if you haven't read it, and start to dive in deep to those internal messages that are waiting for you to be had, because that's the whole point of life, and it really is back to what came here to love. I'm doing this project as really a mission to raise the vibrational frequency of love. And when you do that, you live from within. So that change starts within, and then it radiates out into the power of love. And so the correlation between the two. I just love how many similarities we have with how we see life. [00:12:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:19] Speaker C: If you could convey a message to your younger self, what would it be and why? [00:12:25] Speaker A: It's safe. It's safe like you're safe. For so much of my life, I didn't feel safe. And I think a lot of people, especially a lot of women, don't feel safe. And what happens as a result of not feeling safe is this need to control. And I really look at that in the second book, which I'm so excited because we have the audiobook coming out right now and I really wanted to read that audiobook. That's one of the reasons why I waited. But then the publishers were saying we need it within the next three months, which coincided with my moving across course, by the way. Yeah, exactly. So I'm in this recording studio every day, sweating it out, and I just wanted to really, really take a close look at this thing about control and what it's done to me, what it's done to a lot of other people that I see, you know, struggling with it. And so to my younger self, I would really say, like, there's nothing for you to control. There's not even anything for you to do. You're safe, you're protected, I love you and it's going to be okay. [00:13:34] Speaker C: It's such a simple message, but it's so important, like safety and that you think about how many people don't have that. [00:13:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:13:42] Speaker C: You know, they physically don't have that. And, and to have the emotional component of safety, it's so important. [00:13:49] Speaker A: Yeah. And you feel it right away when you're with someone who doesn't feel safe. I mean, you feel that vibration and you feel, you know, the shallow breathing. You can feel it, you know, and there's so much of that, it's so rampant right now. So it's really getting that felt sense in you of safety that then, that then magnetizes a whole different crew to you and also allows you to really step in and allow others to breathe more freely and to. And to move more freely through life a hundred percent. [00:14:22] Speaker C: And I think safety, you know, it's not, it's not a social class, it's not a demographic, you know, it's for everyone. And I think some of the people that, that aren't safe are some of the wealthiest people I know, you know, that are just scared to take that step into safety and to the deep knowing of self that we've been talking about. So it's across the board. Safety is there for everyone and it should be a basic, a basic thing that we, that we attain every day. So it's important. I love that. How do you define success or love in the context of your true self? I call your true self your soul. You know, I identify as that. But, but when you really think about your true self and your soul, like, what would you say feels successful or feels like love in the context of. [00:15:10] Speaker A: That total peace, no matter what's happening, no matter where you are, no matter who you're with no matter, no matter anything, total peace. [00:15:18] Speaker C: And how do you feel like you attain total peace? [00:15:22] Speaker A: I think it's. Grace is a big component of that because I've had moments where I'm just like, this is absolutely otherworldly to feel peace in this moment and whatever it's coming from. And of course there's a lot of bliss behind that and I'll discuss that in a second. But blissipline then leading to. It's like almost like this compound interest that then cascades into this grace that just takes over everything. So for me, that bliscipline is connecting with that intelligence again, within. And it's not just within, obviously, it's governing everything. Right. It's governing the path of the planets and it's governing our. This little speck of dirt spinning around the sun. You know, it's covering all of it. And for me, I'm very conscious, I'm very, very aware that that's my number one priority is connecting with that intelligence that's beating our hearts, that's sending electrical impulses down to our legs, telling them to take one step and then another or do whatever it is that we're doing with, you know, motor wise. It's that intelligence that I have learned over the years to relax more and more and more and more into. And as I do that, it, like I said, cascades into this love shower of peace, no matter what's going on. And it's. And I talked about it the other day, I was talking about it as a, as an ecstatic piece because I feel it like, like every cell lighting up and I'm at such peace and I just want to laugh, even though maybe things around me are going all sorts of directions. [00:17:05] Speaker C: It's true. [00:17:07] Speaker A: Whoa. This is just ecstatic piece. I just, I'm like buzzing with it, you know, and, and people might be looking at you. I mean, this happened once years ago. One of the first times it happened to me, we had been stuck in an airport. I think we were waiting like nine hours for this flight to take off. And I was at such total peace and I was just happy. And I remember at one point the stewardess was like, what is it? Right? And I was like, I don't know. I just don't feel any of the anxiety. She's like, I want to stay by you. [00:17:36] Speaker C: She's like, can I take what you're taking? [00:17:38] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And it was like, yeah. And I've had so many really profound experiences like that that have just stemmed, I believe, from this discipline of really connecting with that intelligence and then receiving the grace of that. [00:17:52] Speaker C: Yeah, it's. It's a really important message right now. I think that again, we were talking about the external world of, you know, thinking that everything that we want is. Is external. And what I've been really coaching a lot on lately is more. It's not even more. It's just get quiet, the stillness and learning what's inside, you know, learning. Because we're not taught to go within, we're not taught to change. Starts with it. You know, we have to stumble on that, which is such an unfortunate thing in our world. But more and more people are desperate for answers, and it's like, gosh, the only way this will happen is if we get quiet and go within and tap into that intelligence that you're speaking to. So I love that. I love that. And it's in. It's. It's a daily practice, you know, it's not a fleeting moment. It's. But once you. Once you have the intelligence and that access point to it, I think it's so. [00:18:53] Speaker D: It's. [00:18:53] Speaker C: It's almost like you start craving it. [00:18:55] Speaker A: Oh, you do, right? It's so yummy. Yeah, yeah. [00:18:58] Speaker C: That you're like, I don't want to do anything else. I want to learn more about that and go deeper into that. [00:19:03] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. [00:19:04] Speaker C: Yeah, I love that. Tell us a little bit about, like, you've been on a journey. You were living in Italy. Right. And now you're in America. Was that it? Was that a hard transition? I mean, I see you and you're so resilient and you're so strong. You're a single mother and you're like, okay, let's just pick up and go from Italy to California. Like, that's a big leap. [00:19:28] Speaker A: Yeah, it was humongous. It was a humongous leap. And I had been living in Italy for 23 years, and I was living in France before that, and I was living in London, England, before that. And so when my daughter two years ago started saying that she really wanted to have this experience of coming here to study, at first I was like, no. Because no part of me was thinking I'd ever end up back in the States. I mean, I love the States and I come here often for work, but I wasn't thinking I would move here. [00:19:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:20:00] Speaker A: And she wanted to move to Illinois, which I have some family still. And I was like, my nervous system will crack in Illinois completely. And then I started thinking of Costa Rica. I thought, well, I'll just. We'll move to Costa Rica and I'll go to an American school. But then I realized that was only about my nervous system. [00:20:17] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:20:18] Speaker A: And then I had written C A on a sheet of paper and I looked down and I real. Or sorry. I had written C.R. i thought I had written C.R. for Costa Rica. And I looked down and I see CA and it was like a lightning bolt that just went straight through me. And I realized we were going to California. And then everything just started to really easily. The blocks just started to build themselves almost. And then I got rid of or sold close to probably 98% of what I had, which I'm not a big collector anyway. I'm pretty minimalist in my life. But it was like, still, that was 25 plus years of letting go. Letting go. Of letting go. Yeah. And creating this massive void and then coming over here. And now, you know, my daughter's struggling to adjust here and we don't know what that might look like. She wants to go back to Italy. So it's all these things, but here's how I feel about it. Mostly is it's an experiment. Right. And as is life. Right, exactly. Life is this great experiment. And so it's like, are you willing to go with it and are you willing to, you know, really stay in this place of relaxed openness to it, or are you going to fight it at every twist and turn to try to make it one way or another? And I did that fighting bit for a while and it was really exhausting. So now I'm just like, okay, life is going here. [00:21:44] Speaker C: Well, that's the control. Yeah, yeah, that's the control piece that I think when we can surrender and realize that life is working through us and for us and not to us, you know, I think that's a different shift where. When you can be in the flow of your life, whether it has setbacks and detours and. But. But you look at it as that adventure that you're talking about. It's like, what a gift, what a fun adventure it becomes. And yeah, not every day is awesome because you're like, shit, what are we going to do? Like, your daughter doesn't like it here right now. Like, are we going to pivot? Are we staying here? Like, how do I get that? You know, get that shift? But I think it's part of. It's part of the path of experiencing it all. It's. It's all the life experience, for sure. And when you. When, you know, you were kind of talking about that, but in these this is big. You know, most people don't go from one country to another, and they certainly don't do it as a single woman. They certainly don't do it with a daughter in tow. And so all of the things that you've overcome, this resilience, I just want to know, like, how do you maintain that resilience in the face of adversity and setbacks? [00:22:50] Speaker A: The same answer, I guess, is just really leaning into that intelligence and going rogue in that sense. You know, just, I trust that more than I trust what I can see. It's kind of the definition of faith, I guess. [00:23:06] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:23:06] Speaker A: But it's ultimately as well, what you have for every other part of your life. So why we take this little bit that's left over, you know, is one of the things I talk about a lot is you're not pretending to try to like, control or force the trillions of biochemical reactions occurring in your body every second. You know, not there. Like, oh, let me create a five year plan for this and make sure everything stays on track. [00:23:29] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:23:30] Speaker A: You're not doing that for the sun coming up in the morning. I mean, you don't. Most of us hopefully don't go to bed thinking, you know, is it going to come up in the morning? Is it not? You know. [00:23:40] Speaker C: Not worried about that? [00:23:42] Speaker A: Yeah, we trust. Right. And I think this little bit that's left over that we say that I can't trust that I got to make sure it goes this way. I think that's the trap that Buddha was talking about. Like, if everything doesn't look just like this, then I can't be happy. And I find that the resilience is born in. I actually can be regardless of how it's going. And even if sometimes that means that I have to relax in the face of something that I'm just something so jarring and a sensation or, or something so massive. Right. That's hitting me. It's like these waves. I. It's so great to be by the ocean right now because I'm constantly reminded of the immensity and the intensity of life and what happens when you fight the waves. Like when you go up there and you're like, I'm gonna stand, you know, here and I'm not gonna, you know, versus when you jump up when one comes, or you sort of like gently drop down into the ocean when it comes and what happens to you, you are just gently sort of like rocked in this way versus being slammed down to the ocean floor. [00:24:53] Speaker C: Yeah. And such a good Metaphor for life. [00:24:56] Speaker A: Right. And so the resilience for me stems from like, it stems from relaxing in the face of all of the messiness of it and just saying I trust. Like, I know it's crazy, but I trust. [00:25:08] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:25:08] Speaker A: And it's not crazy because I trust everything else. I'm trusting 99.999 some odd percent of what's happening both within me and outside of me. So. [00:25:16] Speaker C: And it's not, it's worked out, you know, it turns out that I think that we again back to that control of outcome. It's, it's like we're blocking all of the beauty that can come, you know, and we get so fixated on one outcome and when it doesn't happen that way, we forget. We don't open up or expand to the possibility that there's actually something better, you know, that there's something more beautiful, more rich. And, and yes, the lessons will always be the lessons. [00:25:46] Speaker D: But it's what you're saying about the. [00:25:47] Speaker C: Waves, like, I love that analogy of how are you going to meet a wave? [00:25:52] Speaker A: You know, and like the richness that's in all of it. Because when you really start to open up to all of it. You know, I joked about this in an article I wrote, I think for the huffington post like 10 years ago maybe, and I was saying how we don't look at the ocean and say that one wave is a good wave and another wave is a bad wave. You know, don't watch them come in and say, oh, a wave like that, that better not ever happen again, by the way. It won't ever happen again. It's a one time phenomena. [00:26:17] Speaker C: Totally. [00:26:17] Speaker A: And you know, we don't do that. And in the same way, we don't look at a wave and say that, oh, you see, that was a perfect wave. That's how all waves should behave. [00:26:24] Speaker C: And. Totally, totally. [00:26:26] Speaker A: You know, it's just, we just watch the magnificence of this thing. Right. And so I think that's, that's what we're increasingly called to in our lives as we progress, is observe the magnificence and respond from that intelligence and respond. Otherwise, don't even move. You know, my daughter said something really powerful to me, I think it was three weeks ago. She said, said, mom, if you don't know what to do, don't do anything. I know. And I was like, okay, you just basically quoted from the dao. Even though you, you know, don't know that out, you have basic, I mean, it's like in the non Doing it is done, of course. And I just got shivers everywhere because I was like, whoa. See, she's already. [00:27:12] Speaker C: She's already awake. [00:27:13] Speaker A: You step away from the intelligence and. [00:27:15] Speaker D: You'Re like, what the. [00:27:16] Speaker A: You know, it's brilliant. [00:27:18] Speaker C: No, it's all of the simple things that you know. And even just as you're saying that, this conversation, it's like I'm finding my breath is more present. I'm, like, relaxed, you know, it's. It's the energy of everything that we're talking about. When you apply it to your life, it has. It comes with magnificent peace and joy and love and all of the things you know. And I love getting to do this because primarily. Well, no, not. Not primarily. Absolute, 100%. I'm choosing to speak with people that have that level of consciousness, that we're all at a different level, of course, but. But it's so refreshing to see humans walking around on planet Earth in human Earth school, doing their curriculum, but doing it in a way that they actually connect to the intelligence and that they can move and use that to better their lives. I think about what you done with your life thus far. Like, you're not old and you've done so much with your life and so many beautiful gifts have been given to the world through your. Through your deep knowing. So thank you for being an example for that. You are love to me. You are such a brilliant, shining, vibrational piece of the whole cosmos. But looking back on your journey, how would you say that you feel love, whether it's to yourself, to others, to the world? How do you feel like love has shaped you today? [00:28:46] Speaker A: Well, first, I want to acknowledge. My nephew said the other day, he said, let me just be a big reflecting mirror to you. And that's what I feel like saying to you right now. [00:28:55] Speaker C: You're so sweet. Thank you. [00:28:57] Speaker A: Thank you. It's such a mutual admiration society. I think we have lots of ways that we try to express this thing called love, right? We try to put it into words, but there are these words before the words as it's been said. There's this connecting with something that is so intelligent. And that's just the word. I'm going to keep coming back to, like intelligence, maybe, because. Maybe I come back to that word because it's an easy word for us all to get around because we've been so trained to think that intelligence is like, this is kind of the master in the room. But obviously cognitive intelligence is. Is nothing. I mean, it's so. It's so. It's so tiny in comparison to, like, the real intelligence I'm talking about, Which I guess the closest that I've heard of it being explained was when Einstein was talking about imagination and saying, how is, you know, infinitely more powerful than the intelligence that we're used to honoring, you know, the rational, intelligent mind. And so for me, love shows up, and it's informed every atom, every cell of my body through that infinite intelligence that is guiding all of it. And it is my number one priority. So sometimes people say, like, my number one priority is, you know, my family or my work or whatever that looks like. And all of that's great. You know, you're contributing to. To those. You know, furthering things on those. On those planes. But for me, the more I've let that love, that intelligence, that. That one intelligence sort of take over, and I say here, you know, you do it. The more that, as you've kind of alluded to it, like that light or that energy or that spark or that electricity can just radiate out and go so far you don't even. It's like we don't know the reaches of that. We don't know the reaches of talking to one person a day, smiling at one person. Today I'm reminded of that poem. I can't recall the author, but it's. If even one life is breathed easier because I have lived right. And that love. Maybe that was T.S. eliot, I don't want to misquote, but. But that love, like, it's worked through me in so many ways, helping so many others breathe easier. It's really funny that you mentioned that today, you know, because that's what it does. It's one of the things that it does through this form, you know, and that's how one of many ways that it's love has informed me. But it's that kind of love that I'm talking about. [00:31:35] Speaker C: I love that. Yeah. And that's real love. You know, I think. I think the. The emotional drama and relationship love that. That we're playing out, that's more our egos playing out this role of what. What we think love is, or what, you know, asking and demanding things of each other. That's not love. This love that you're tapping into is. It is. It's. It's universal love. And it's coming from source, God, universal int. Whatever you want to call it, and it's in each and every one of us. And the reason came Here to Love became that title is because I wanted to really make sure that we Talked about that love. That we are souls in a human costume walking around this earth, and our vibrational frequency is love. And it's like a wave. And when we get on that wave and we ride it, it's like the best ride of our lives. And there's joy and there's peace and there's compassion and there's, you know, truth. And all the things are on that wave riding with us, and it's just total bliss like you were talking about before. So I love it. So I. I want to do just some quick, like, fiery questions because I want the audience to just know you a little deeper, but so you can just think of whatever comes to mind with these, but just answer. Answer more in a quick way. My life feels meaningful when. [00:32:57] Speaker A: And connected. Connected and connecting, which I. I can't. [00:33:01] Speaker C: Even imagine you not in that state. So I'm pretty sure that you're. You're there a lot. What's important, most important to your life right now? [00:33:10] Speaker A: God, Gaia, who's my daughter. Gaia also means Mother Earth. So very intentional. Yeah. God, Gaia. And good. Doing. Good spreading. Good. Spreading love. [00:33:21] Speaker C: I love it. I love it. That may be your next book. I think that's my next book is. [00:33:27] Speaker A: My next book is I am no Body. [00:33:30] Speaker C: Oh, I love that. I love that. I'm excited. I'm telling you guys, you. You have to find Courtney and follow her. What do you feel like the world needs more of right now? [00:33:40] Speaker A: Trust. Trust in yourself. Trust in others. Trust in the intelligence. Trust. Trust. Trust. Trust that it's going to be okay. Trust that it is okay, even when it doesn't feel like that. Trust. [00:33:53] Speaker C: It's a big. It's a big ask. It's a big surrender. And when you can. When you can really trust, it's where it all lies. All the answers are there. You know, you just have to trust. Okay, so complete these sentences. I feel whole when. [00:34:10] Speaker A: Gosh, I can feel this sensation. I guess it's an. I'm just going to say expansion because that's. It doesn't. [00:34:17] Speaker C: You can be grammatically in different ways every day. It doesn't matter. [00:34:20] Speaker A: But it doesn't grammatically make sense. But I feel whole when. Expansion. [00:34:24] Speaker C: Okay. I love it. It's a new. It's a new sentence. I feel whole. Win. Expansion. No, that's. That's. That's beautiful. And then complete this sentence. I am that. [00:34:35] Speaker A: I am just. [00:34:36] Speaker C: What? [00:34:37] Speaker A: It came right away. It's not a. Yeah, Yeah. I just. Yeah. [00:34:42] Speaker C: It's true acceptance of and knowing. Knowing Yourself as the divine. So beautiful. So in your own words, can you tell me why you believe we all came here to love? [00:34:54] Speaker A: I think you talked about it as a school, and I feel like we get to experience sensation through this form. And the greatest sensation we can experience through form is love in all its manifestations. [00:35:09] Speaker C: That's the mic drop. Boom. That's all we need. Master that and you're gonna love your life. It's. It's pretty easy. It really is true. In both your books that you've written, is there anything that you want to leave the audience with in terms of messaging of those of those beautiful gifts that you've given us? [00:35:28] Speaker A: Well, the second book, give yourself permission, I think, especially if you're really into the science and you kind of want to know how these operating systems work that you're going around with. I think that book is just so. It's so powerful because it is this mix that you were talking about at the very beginning of the podcast recording of, like, spirit and love and intelligence, and so much of that was just streamed through, and I feel like that's how our lives are intended to be is just the streaming through of this intelligence. And I mean, both books definitely come from that place. And depending on where you are, I think they'll both. They both instruct a lot about how to relax and trust, as we've been talking about. And sometimes with all the things going on, those are really the hardest things to do, like you said. But they are really simple, and the delivery in the books is super simple. And as DaVinci said, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. So there we are. [00:36:25] Speaker C: It is. It's true. And all of the big lessons are that simple. They really are. So everybody gets your copy. The the two books are Change Starts within you. And also Give Yourself permission by Courtney McDermott. Thank you so much for being here. We're gonna have so many more conversations. This is not a done deal. But I just wanted to start here and let you guys all know the brilliant light that Courtney is. So follow her, grab her books, and be sure to check out what we're up to next, because I have no doubt the two of us will be jamming on something magical throughout our life. [00:37:03] Speaker A: Yeah, and just a quick note, it's Courtney without a you. So anyone looking for it, that piece is important. Also, court inc.com and Liz, thank you so much. You are such a beacon. Like, a lighthouse is shining all over me every time I'm around you. And thank you to everyone who listened. It really says a lot about just who you are as a human and what your path is here in this space and time that we're sharing. And I'm so grateful. I'm really, really grateful. [00:37:30] Speaker C: And we're here for you. We're here to do it all together. So continue the conversations. Definitely share this message with somebody you love today and we'll see you again next time. Thanks Cord. It was so awesome to connect with you. [00:37:43] Speaker A: Thanks. Ciao.
